What a day yesterday turned out to be... on the way to taking Morgan to her art class I got broadsided by a GMC Sahari Van, which totally destroyed the drivers side door. It was quite traumatic, but thank god Morgan wasn't hurt and my knee is a little dinged up and achy. I think it just aggravated an old injury but we'll see within the next couple days if it gets any worse. So I spent the whole day on the phone with insurance guys. And get this the woman in the van who broadsided me claims she was stopped. Honestly how does she account for the damage to my car?... was my car driving sideways?... I was in an alley driving west and she came out of the parking lot and drove straight into me... This is precisely the reason I called the police out to take an accident report. Darren also came out to make sure we were okay. Of course now I don't have a car that I can drive until the adjustor comes out and we can take the car to the shop, then at least I'll have a rental car for the duration of the repairs. The State Farm Insurance guy was really nice though even though he was the other parties insurance guy, but he called me to ask me what happened.
Anyway we'll see how all this plays out in the next week or so. It's just a real drag especially as my knee really aches. My wrist stopped hurting now but I switched my watch, bracelet and wedding band to my right hand just in case.
Needless to say Morgan never made it to her art class this week. The bummer of that was that we were literally within walking distance when the accident happened. But they were kind enough to give her a credit for next week instead.
I must admit I was so tired after all the emotions that played out I feel asleep on the couch with the kids. I've felt tired all day today too... must be the stress.
Well aside from that tonight is Morgan's kindergarten class' Chinese Moon Party at the school, where they get to look at the moon through telescopes and have chinese food, and I guess all round fun. Should be interesting... it starts at 6pm and goes til 8pm. Late night again for the kids thank goodness no baseball tonight.

so sorry about your accident, banged up knee, the whole thing... one advantage of living a carless existence (for me carless here and now) is that chances for getting banged up are fewer, although I did hit the pavement broadside a dew months ago and thought nothing had happened and I now have a wonky knee, you might eventually let your medical insurance take a look at it... the moon: last night I walked out on my balcony way down here in the southern hemisphere and saw an extraordinary full moon hanging over the buildings across the street, it was early in the evening. I will do so again tonight and think of you and Morgan staring out at it. That's the thing about the moon, we all look at it and see the same phase of it, no matter where on the planet we happen to be.
How bad your accident, how can the woman claim she was stopped, when she hit you straight into your side. Do take care of your knww and go to the medics to make sure there is no permanent damage. These things often surface again years later. Like my neck vertebrae which were damaged 52 years ago when we were hit in the back and I sustained whiplash. At that time there was no such thing as whiplash, or better said nobody knew much about it. Was Morgan stressed about it? And you, you could do without this at this time. How are you coping without qa car, or has that now been sorted out?
About the Moon Tonight 03-03 there is a eclipse and we are supposed to see it over here between 10 pm and midnight. But I hope you and Morgan had a good time at Morgan's do. I must say your schools do do such a lot of things, ours never did in your time!
I meant knee, not knww
more on the moon: if there is an eclipse in the UK, we will all have one, that's what makes me a moon-watcher, so will try to see it... 10pm Godalming is 7pm on my balcony, should check that out. maybe in california, though, it'll be daytime. if you can see the moon during the day, would an eclipse be visible during the day? i don't know enough about the moon, but then what's google for? will try to enlighten (literally) myself on that...

there you can see who sees the eclipse when. thanks Lyke for the heads up, I would have missed that...
Good grief! Mum asked me whether I had heard about your accident when I talked to her this morning. As I hadn't been able to connect with the comments (and didn't remember your blog address in the first place, I hadn't been on since day 11! Shades of the much smaller accident last year when a lady coming out of the parking ot hit you and she got damaged - remember? I hope you are recovered, and that you can drive. What happened with the insurance? When will you get your own car back? the picture looks realluy bad. Just as well you always insist the kids are in their back seats with seatbelts on! Will read your following days for follow-up on the accident
