I know.. I've been very lax.....

I realize it's the end of June and there has been little or no entries on this here blog.. but life seems to have just got in the way... What with Darren being in Shreveport, the end of school, the end of my secret project - finally finished! Hurray! ... And now getting ready for the big trip across the pond (and country for that matter) for the better part of the summer. Still I seem to have found myself with a little bit of free time to be able to sit down and write, albeit a short install as it's bound to be.

Morgan is once again over at her friend Molly's house - those two seem to be inseparable what with summer camp together and the fact that Molly has one of those temporary swimming pools at her house and it being an uncharacteristically hot (97 degrees +) day. Of course a lack of a pool won't keep the girls apart either. To top it off they found out on Thursday that they got into the same class for 2nd grade again so they are quite ecstatic about that. Owen has his friend Nick over today as his parents are on a wine tasting trip today so Nick has been with us all day playing in the sprinklers, eating ice cream, drinking cold lemonade slushies just to keep cool... at one point the ice cream truck starting driving around the neighborhood and they just stood patiently for the truck to arrive and then ran down the street after the truck to get it to come to our house, and I remember looking at these little bodies running down the street in their swim suits thinking life is good.. how lucky to only have to think about getting a nice cold ice cream as your only thought.

Well as I mentioned life has been happening, we finished up Owen's baseball season this past week and despite the hard start to the season where we lost every game, we finished strong with a marked improvement in everyone's game and most importantly in Owen who was instrumental in helping his team win their very first game by slugging the ball into the outfield and helping his teammates home with 4 runs and making 2 himself... it was an amazing well played game that looked to not go well for the Red Sox but they rallied and ended up winning 3 games in a row. It was very sweet especially as this team hadn't tasted victory all season long.
Anyway check out the video.. Excuse my excitement when Owen hit the ball.. I got a little carried away in my chanting and as a result forgot to aim the camera at O.

Morgan finished her session of gymnastics with an impressive gym fest where the kids got to show off their skills individually on the floor..., the parallel bars and the beam. She even got a little trophy at the end of it...
Anyway only a week before our big trip. D will be home for the 4th July weekend and we're all very excited to see him.. I don't know when I'll be posting again.. Perhaps I can get on with Mum's computer. We will see. Otherwise I'll be even longer between blogs.. Have a great summer one and all.

Bowling and the first signs of Spring.

So  we can see that the first signs of spring our about, as the daffs are starting to come up and the buds are beginning to form on the tree...
