Is it possible.. or has spring sprung?

Seriously two full days in a row of beautiful glorious, gorgeous sunshine.. it was just a great way to spend the weekend.. as as you can see from these photos spring is definitely in the air up hear in Portland... you can tell from my blog that I love this weather and can say without a doubt in my mind that Portland is a great place as long as the sun is shining, the sky is blue and there is no RAIN.  So we took advantage of the grand days and took the kids on a bike ride down by the river along the spring water corridor.  It was really invigorating getting on our bikes and taking a ride and I had forgotten how much fun it was to get out.  It was a little on the chilly side despite the sunshine, and not being familiar with the this part of town, we were a little stuck on finding somewhere to stop for lunch, especially as the kids didn't feel comfortable crossing the bridges to go to downtown Portland on their bikes... which considering they would be sharing the road with cars, I can't say I could blame them...

Finally
we managed to find our way to Burger King for a well deserved hamburger (of course all the good we did biking we immediately undid by eating this delicious (she says sarcastically) gourmet meal!  Still beggars can't be choosers and eat we did before getting back on our bikes and biking back to our original starting point a good 3-4 miles non-stop to our car.

It was a really pleasant way to spend the day.

That was yesterday, today we took a second trip to Berkeley Park where I let Morgan loose with my camera and you may have noticed she now has a blog of her own, so you can check out her photos there.  Also Owen & Darren practiced baseball as he has tryouts this Friday for his team.  Anyway I'll leave you all with an image of Morgan & I hanging out together while the boys practiced.

Wow, that was great to see the snow play and the Coast run too. You will no doubt hit Florence one day at the coast....where I was raised and at 16 proclaimed Queen of their great Rhododendron Festival they have every Spring....wild Rhodies grow all over that area in profusion....pink mostly...the wild ones, anyway. Miles and Miles of Sand dunes and Dune buggies to ride in....Check it out online and head over some time. I'm actually in a MUSEUM there :-)....as Queen in 1956!!!! Love, Kathrin

You see i did check all the posts up to this last one. Loved the sunsetpix, and of course all the others.
I have bugged Michael, Fiona/Shaun about their contributions. Fiona said she would get to it a.s.a.p. but we have heard that before! Michael has finished one and will do the other next week when they are back in the flat. Rita will type hers out as well when back (so she has done hers)and email it. John was a bit noncommital, but has a lot on his plate. Am I glad that I've got mine out of the way and out of my head. Love to you all Oma

Bowling and the first signs of Spring.

So  we can see that the first signs of spring our about, as the daffs are starting to come up and the buds are beginning to form on the tree...
