Okay I know it's been few and far between with the blogging of late just life has been extremely hectic trying to get the special projects done what with the school year ending and Darren leaving for Shreveport for the summer and figuring out about new tenants for the house down in South Pas, and you know life in general. Truthfully I don't really have a lot of to report that is very interesting. Last weekend the sun came out for the day on Saturday and so we took advantage of this and took a nice long bike ride and the kids did a really good job biking along the main road with traffic. They were a little freaked at first but did very well but then the incentive of ice cream from the new gelato place was a great motivator and they were so proud of themselves once we got home.
Of course as nice as it is to have this new gelato shop in town I worry that once we have been to the "worlds greatest ice cream" place in Florence, as touted by Michael, our little gelato place will pale in comparison. Morgan has such high hopes for this trip that it's all she is able to talk about. Still she'd eat any ice cream anywhere pretty much.
So now Darren is in LA for the next week and it's been an adjustment getting used to being a single parent again. I decided that I'd enroll the kids in one week of Summer camp through the school just so I can get the last project finished and be organized for the the trip. Originally we were going out to Shreveport to visit Darren but he had decided to come home for a couple weekends instead which is a huge relief as it's always really difficult to get ready for a trip overseas while taking a trip over to the East Coast. On top of that, I have very little desire to go to Shreveport for any amount of time in the summer when it's 100% humidity in 100degree weather. Yuk!.
I did manage to find a housesitter for the summer too so that's all squared away and Milo gets to stay home, which I hope he'll be happy about. So you see, it's all a little boring and nothing very exciting is going on.
These latest photos were taken when we visited the Rhododendron Gardens on Mother's day.
Owen will be performing in. Darren's birthday is tomorrow, but he is flying off to Shreveport Louisiana via LA and won't be back until next Wednesday and then he'll leave again for 3 1/2 months at the end of May. Thank goodness I have found a housesitter to stay and live in the house with Milo so the house WON'T be empty for all you would be burglars out there. At lease the school is recording the concerts so I can show Darren when he gets back.
