Okay quick synopsis of my life since I last wrote, Darren went to Shreveport from the end of June and got home about a week ago only to leave again Friday (Sept 12th) to fly to Helsinki to scout for a new movie. He'll be back next Friday (Sept 19th) and hopefully will be home for a while before heading back to Helsinki for 5 months. Me and the kids, went to Europe for most of the summer, first to the UK
which was a blast and extremely expensive
and then to Italy
which was a hoot and so fantastic that it would take me way to long to describe all the wonderful sights and sounds and smells and feelings of being there. Suffice it to say that to two things that will always remind me of Italy are Sunflower fields
and the hum of bees.
Anyone who has ever been to Mike & Rita's place will know what I mean.
Of course the warmth of the sunshine and the relaxing atmosphere also added to the fantastic
vacation we had. Then another 10 days in the UK (one week with Paul & family) and 4 days in noisy ol'e London where we travelled primarily by bus (it was great - the kids particularly loved traveling on the top deck of the double deckers)
And there you have the last 2+ months in a nutshell. Now I will eventually inundate you with stories and photos, but this is a taste for now.

you say "the only people who read my blog are the very people I spent most of the summer with"... not quite! sounds like a wonderful summer, as reported by all those present, most of whom have reported. Helsinki in winter should be a different experience, for Darren... must run, but I always check your blog.
You know as soon as I posted the blog I realized that I should have made an addendum for you as I know you always check the blog... thanks for doing so... When are you leaving for NYC?
week from yesterday, i.e. Monday 22, arrive there Tuesday 23 via Toronto (!). there is a direct flight but it is somehow ok for AA to fly me BUE-MIA-Toronto-NYC cheaper, because that's where there was a cheap seat still available, so I arrive at 4.30 pm and get a free tour of the northern continent from several miles up, all for minus 300 dollars... no wonder airlines are going broke!
Crazy isn't it...
