Accident's happen.. and a weekend of camping.

Well for some it's been a great weekend of camping in the pristine Mount Hood area by Trillium Lake while others, namely me, decided to have a quiet weekend at home listening to my audio book, watching with dismay, the Presidential Debate and the subsequent pundit point of views that debated more than the debaters who won... all I know is that the American people haven't. (700 billion dollar bailout.. I wish someone would give me 7 billion forget the 700 billion.)  So there I was deciding to make some dinner while the politicians rattled on without ever actually answering a question that was asked and I managed to splash boiling water over my entire hand.  Ouch with a capital OUCH!

So even though I managed to plant all my spring bulbs, (fingers crossed that the actually bloom) and took a pleasant walk into Westmoreland, I spent the better half of my weekend nursing my hand.  Of course Darren freaked out saying I should have gone to the hospital, but seriously, other than soaking my hand in a bowl of cold water for many hours and taking some tylenol there wasn't much else you could do, it's not like my skin is falling off (yet) although it did/does hurt.  Still in order to make everyone happy I am going to see my doctor this afternoon just to check it out.  (Don't think he'll do much really that I'm not already doing)

While I was disfiguring myself the others, Darren, Owen & Morgan took the car and went up to
Mount Hood for a weekend of camping and kayaking on the lake.   And from what I can gather they had a really fantastic time, carving wood - Darren sliced his
finger, going out on the Lake in the kayak - I understand it was freezing but so pretty, freezing especially in
the mornings and in the middle of the night when then needed to pee.... since the trailer was sold, we don't have the luxury of an indoor toilet anymore.. or a bed.. part of my reason for not going and also I thought it would be nice for the kids to have some alone time with Dad, before he goes to Finland for 1/2 a year next year.

Still other than that life is plodding along into fall.. although you wouldn't think so with 90 degree temps today.. Next week I think it will be time for pumpkins.

do keep us blog-readers informed about how your hand or the skin on it heals... looks nasty and i am sure feels every bit as yucky as it looks... you can imagine how your dad and i have been following the failed house vote. let's hope they all get their act together before the bottom drops out.

The camping looks wonderful, but sleepimg in tents ain't my scene. Your hand looks and must have been very painful, but hopefully by now almost a week later it is on the mend. Do take care of it Your MUM

Bowling and the first signs of Spring.
