So I really don't have anything very exciting to write about.. the kids are back in school. Darren is at the coast (Lincoln City to be precise) working on his movie "The Burning Plain". Morgan is doing her homework and Owen is taking his piano lesson,
while I update the blog. It's a wet, wet Monday afternoon but there is an end in sight if the weathermen are to be believed we are due a whole week - yes I said it - one whole week of non-stop dry weather. I CANNOT WAIT. Of course life is never really dull around here, what with teaching art to Morgan's 1st grade class about colors being warm and cool.. (an extremely exhausting venture - I do not know how teachers do it...) Tomorrow I'm working in Owen's 3rd grade class for their art class - I'm just helping not teaching this one... phew!
Still this weekend we will be heading down to Lincoln City ourselves to spend the weekend with Darren at the coast... it's supposed to be quite spectacular down there so I will be sure to take some photos...

Of course the big news of the week has to be the birth of Alessia - and to say that she looks like her dad is the understatement of this century.. I'm very happy for both Michael and Rita because she was a long time coming in every way and, in a way it seems fitting that the oldest grandchild should end up having the youngest great-grandchild - I see some symmetry in this - don't know about you. Still Michael and Rita are in for some huge changes in their lives but I guarantee that they will not ever remember a day without her in their lives and despite the many, and there are MANY, sleepless nights, they won't want to remember a time without her either. I still remember (she waxes philosophically) being told to cherish this first year because it will be over in the blink of any eye, and scoff as I did, everyone was right because it seems like it was just yesterday that I was holding Owen in my arms as a first time mother and now he is a strapping almost 9 year old with a 6 1/2 year old sister... I still miss those days of him snuggling on my shoulder
and the endless backache but not the dirty diapers - I can definitely do without those - sorry Michael - I've traded those in for stinky clothes instead - piles and piles of them.... Still each year brings a new era of change in our lives and we are looking forward to those changes in 2008.. And on that note, I shall bid you all a good evening till my next posting.. tata!

As usual loved the pix, my grandchildren seem to be doing great, is Owen playing your piano at home? where is it situated? It looks great. I must really get on with doing my blog now. See you all soon, hope you had a fab weekend, and where is Lincoln City? and also hope you have good weather; its been dire around here.
