Christmas is coming and rain is coming down

I knew it was too good to last - the rain has officially come back and I guess this shouldn't be any surprise seeing as we do live, after all, in Portland. Still it couldn't have come on a worse weekend - I had a photo shoot to do today - a paying gig at that, and the weather was just so awful that I had to go to my client's house to shoot the photos and I'm sure anyone who knows kids, it is incredibly to photography children in available light when they are moving and your light is low - I don't have any fancy lights to set plus I like to use natural light. So out 295 photos I only really had about 44 decent photos that I could post that were in focus. Pity because these kids were extremely photogenic. Still I might be able to go back next weekend to try again, but I'm worried about the turn around in terms of getting their pictures to them in time for Christmas. Ah enough of those woes - but to top it off we were going to go to a Christmas tree farm today to pick out our Christmas tree for the house, and I thought how cute it would be to get the christmas card photo of the kids doing that - no such luck. It's way too wet. So we will attempt to try this idea again next week - come rain or shine.

On a different note the kitchen is pretty much done.. I mean with the exception of them coming tomorrow to repolish the silestone tomorrow there is nothing really left to be done except the installation of the pot filler tap above the stove and the installation of the back splash for the stove that arrives on Tuesday..

The kids even had the opportunity to make and decorate some gingerbread cookies - see the photos. I will post some photos of the finished kitchen once everything is done...

yum yum those cookies sure look good. Also loved the photo of the kids in the Xmas gear.
Glad to here the kitchen is almost finished.
As for the rain we've had almost as much, on Sunday we had to go toLondon for lunch and took the Jellies for a walk in Wandsworth Park near Ducane. It poured and my coat was saturated on one side where the umbrella didn't cover me. Took till Monday for it to dry,and we went to lunch feeling decidedly dank.
have been thinking about my trip to you all when would you like me to come Feb/Mar. or early May? Prices are still the same. Let me know then I can go ahead and really settle for one and book it. More about this later. Hugs Mum/Oma

by the way, in the news they talk about too much rain even for the pacific nw, but i am assuming the floods were not around where you all live or we would have heard more directly from you...
