Edward the Confessor comes home....

Oh and Devon is here too... what a dramatic weekend so far and it's only part way through Saturday. We get back from Owen's soccer game (which they lost 6 goals to 3) oops... Owen was feeling a little skitish from his turn as goalie last weekend when he got kicked in the face... but they certainly did a lot better in the second half...

Still after getting more food for Edward, who'd knocked over his food last night, I went up to the bedroom to discover that Edward was no where to be seen... the little bu....er had escaped. Of course Owen went into a complete tizzy as he couldn't find him and is after all responsible for his well being...thank goodness for Uncle Devon who kept calm and found him hiding under Owen's bed... so now he's safe and sound with a book on top on his home to prevent him getting out again.

Meanwhile the kitchen is now in the midst of hole city.. as the boys finish the work they have started. I'm just hoping that before they both leave tomorrow there aren't as many holes in the kitchen...

We had our first major rain since arriving... and the temperature dropped almost 20 degrees so I guess Fall is officially here. Still today it's clear but I'm told it's a brief respite. So far so good.

Interestingly I talked to one of Owen's team mates(who also happens to be in Owen's Class) mom they moved here a year ago from Montana and she was telling me that she is only now feeling like this is her home... It took a whole year to stop feeling like she was on an extended vacation. That's how I feel a lot of the time...it's weird especially as you have all of your things around you, I keep thinking this is temporary and we'll be back in South Pasadena soon... Oh well. Anyway here are some of the portrait shots I took for my photo assignment this week.
Oh yeah and I guess it's time for you to meet

finally, Edward the Confessor! I didn't think it was likely to be a dog, Fred's suggestion at some point, he is a handsome chap, nice coloring and all that...

from the way you talk (write) it may take less than a year, you sound really good about your surroundings, of course the climate is very different and the whole ambience is different, but you have moved a lot before in your life, and this may somehow get worked into the organic whole of your life rather than just a comparison with Pasadena, and then again it may take a year...

Yeah mum thought he was a turtle or gecko... thank god not a rat especially as he did escape.

Actually rats make good pets! Micko had one the "friendly rat". So Edward is a hamster and not a confessor at all. He looks good lovely colouring.
The portraits you did of you lovely kids are brilliant. Will be in touch. Oma Hop-along. Hugs
