Day 4 - yeah I know I skipped a couple days

So I skipped a couple days, but with good reason, my notebook is still in the shop and yesterday was after all Valentine's Day (hence the red color for my blog today.) Scrapbooking Fun Class went very well Tuesday night (Changed the date because Wednesday was.... yes Valentine's day) considering I wasn't at all prepared but Jennifer was very happy with her page as was I. And I even managed to come up with a very cool page for Morgan. I'd captured a particular great photo of her at the park with Grandpa Jim the other day and changed it to black and white and then played with the photo. Of course, the next project has to be with Owen...

Yesterday was a fantastic day... Darren pretty much spoiled me rotten, NOT going into details except that he took me to this GREAT Sushi place in Studio City. OH MY GOD - absolutely the best sushi I have ever eaten. We sat at the bar and the chef prepared food for us suggesting what he thought would be a good menu. I should've listened because he had choosen really well for us, from albacore sashimi (my favorite) to blue crab handrolls, and yellowtail sushi (the yellow tail coming from Japan that day - it was delicious) but I had to have this one Crunchy roll which had shrimp and tempura topping, the chef looked at me and said he thought it might be too heavy and he was right. Next time (and there will be a next time) I will listen to him.

The rest of the day was just as great, I got to take a nap (me take a nap and I was out cold for 2 hours) and he picked up the kids and made a fantastic dinner. The kids were on a sugar high from school and Morgan crashed around 4.30pm and took a nap on me. I was worried she was sick because she NEVER takes naps - but she was fine after we sat down for a scrumptious Beef Wellington dinner with red wine risotto and baby carrots. If it sounds mouth watering that's because it was. Darren is the BEST cook. We ended our meal with some very yummy cupcakes from a new cupcake store - DOTS CUPCAKES, on the Arroyo. I'm not big on icing but the chocolate chocolate cupcake was to die for.. strawberry one was a little too sweet for me... but still scrumptious.

Well enough about food.. Finally after dinner we exchanged Valentine's gifts , the kids, bless their hearts bought me a talking rose, you know you get to record your voice and then play it back. It's very tacky but I just LOVE IT! All in all it was the best Valentine's ever. So how was yours????
